I have seen lots of comments about people complaining about the 'new' Chipettes saying that they are not and never will be as good as the cartoon versions. This goes with the Chipmunks as well, comparing their singing I would prefer the 'new' Chipettes and Chipmunks. It is much more pleasant to the ears and a whole lot easier to edit music into their voices (not so much for the Chipmunks), but still more than the cartoon version. Don't get me wrong I love the cartoon Chipmunks and Chipettes. I prefer the cartoon story line over the new story. For those of you who don't know, the Chipettes are orphans from Australia and the Chipmunks mother gave them up to Dave for their survival. Not at all like the movie where they bring unnecessary characters like Ian (I guess he has to be there, I can't imagine a real life Chipmunk movie without a antagonist). The only problem that the Chipmunks and Chipettes had in the cartoon would be amongst themselves, and I don't think that would be a very interesting movie for people who have never seen the cartoon. Anyways, back to the reason I prefer the 'new' Chipettes. Only because of their singing talents, and possibly their size(it's cute since they are small :P). If you have heard the original Chipettes sing it is fine within the cartoon, but not with unskilled editors trying to get a few video views. :P
